We couldn't be more excited to soak up some sun this summer. Last year, we spend the majority of the summer days staring out the window of Children's Hospital. This year, we bought a pass to the public pool, hung a hammock from two trees in our yard, and are ready to finally make some lasting POSITIVE memories with our family of four.
After a few hospital trips for esophageal dilations as well as something called "wound explorations" and a common cold to top it off, we've finally reached a lull in the action and were able to unwind.
We've done a bit of "checking out" lately and found peace and calm and very simple moments. Laying on the carpet in a pile of blankets, walking around on the driveway, spending hours at the pool and pushing cars around on the carpet are just a few of the ways we've been filling our time on this hiatus. When your world has been flipped upside down to care for a medically fragile child, these normal daily activities have never felt so good.
Now it's time to refocus on the things that matter now that our hospital trips are being spaced out a bit more: our children, our upcoming 8th anniversary, a fun summer ahead with family and friends, and Little Birch Shop!
